Coaching

The role of the coach is to provide the right environment to be able to teach players the essential skills of football in a fun and safe manner. While all of our coaches are volunteers, Bargara FC believe that it is important for coaches to have the appropriate skills and qualifications to be able to develop players to their full potential.

Football Queensland offer National Curriculum coaching courses for coaches through out Queensland and also in Bundaberg. As we move forward as a club, it is important for Bargara FC to be aligned with the national curriculum and develop a consistent playing style from juniors to seniors.

We encourage all of our current and future coaches to have completed their relevant level coaching course. While the Grassroots course is provided free of charge, some of the higher level courses have fees associated with them. Bargara FC will cover registration fees for Skills Acquisition and Game Training Phase courses, while higher level courses will need to be negotiated through the club’s committee.

Prior to attending any fee paying coaching courses, individuals are to inform the secretary and treasurer by email of the registration fee costs prior to approval of payment.

Which course is appropriate?

Our recommendations;

  • Discovery Phase: Under 6 – Under 7
  • Skills Acquisition Phase: Under 8 – Under 16
  • Game Training Phase: Under 11+
